Fast Doesn't Mean Great

Description

-1967-

Duck can be considered as a proud Great Western engine and at times can be a little biased. But with Flying Scotsman on Sodor, he was worried as of course over the years he was part of a long and probably unsolvable debate, on who was the real record breaker of 100mph.

Duck puffed towards the famous locomotive while collecting some trucks to take on his branch line. Secretly he was nervous about meeting the big engine. 'E-Excuse me' he stuttered. Flying Scotsman looked towards the Pannier tank engine and smiled. 'Yes' he said. 'I do have great respect for you but...I believe that City of Truro did do 100mph before you.' Duck was worried but Flying Scotsman chuckled. 'Oh that silly debate.' Duck thought he was being stubborn, but Flying Scotsman kept on talking.

'Whenever he and I meet up with each other, we often have a chuckle about our records. But in the end, fast doesn't mean the best. If people want to believe that either one of us was the fastest then they have the right to do so. But Truro and I are happy that we've survived because of that.' Duck smiled. In the end he knew that Flying Scotsman was right but he still has his Great Western pride.

It's nice to know that Scotty handled the 100 mph debate better than his older brother Gordon did (To my knowledge Gordon is the older of the two because he was the prototype of their class). :)
